What is BRCA?
BRCA1 and BRCA2 are genes responsible for DNA repair.
Mutations in these genes significantly increase the risk of hereditary cancers.

A positive BRCA test result does not mean a person has cancer, but it does indicate a
highly elevated risk of developing certain cancers, particularly:

80-90% lifetime risk of breast cancer
